Why Plastic Bank
Environmental & Social Impact – ClimatePartner’s clients have responded positively to the project with Plastic Bank, appreciating the dual focus offered for both environmental and social impact. Plastic Bank’s focus on reducing plastic pollution in coastal areas, helps advance clients’ sustainability goals.
Project Differentiation – Plastic Bank is a valuable addition to ClimatePartner’s project portfolio. Plastic pollution is a visible and widely recognized global issue, making it a topic that resonates strongly with many businesses, particularly those in the consumer goods and packaging industries. By offering a project that directly addresses this challenge, we have seen increased interest from clients who want to take action against plastic waste.
Marketing Value – Ready to use marketing assets, footage and photos from Plastic Bank’s ecosystems to share about the impact being made. ClimatePartner and Plastic Bank held a joint webinar, “Where climate action meets community empowerment”, featuring David Katz, Plastic Bank Founder and CEO.

Leveraging technology for smarter solutions
ClimatePartner combines software that simplifies and scales processes with expert advice. They guide businesses on their path to net zero with solid data and practical solutions. Using internationally recognised standards such as the GHG Protocol, ClimatePartner supports companies in calculating Corporate Carbon Footprints (CCF) and Product Carbon Footprints (PCF). These calculations are carried out in ClimatePartner’s software, using ClimatePartner’s proprietary Emission Factor Database (EFDB).
Plastic Bank has developed a proprietary platform that digitally records plastic exchanges across the entire supply chain, from individual collectors to local processors. Partners can access this data through the Impact Hub audit trail, enabling transparent, traceable, and reportable social and environmental impact.

ClimatePartner Supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
For ClimatePartner, SDG 13 – Climate Action is at the core of their work. However, they recognize the importance of all SDGs. Through the different climate projects in their portfolio, ClimatePartner aims to advance economic, social, and ecological goals.
Collaborating with partners like Plastic Bank enables ClimatePartner to support diverse SDGs, including decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), life below water (SDG 14), and partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).
ClimatePartner works towards a world in which businesses move towards net zero emissions through measurable, transparent, and impactful climate action.
